Commentary on Nehemiah 13:7

Theological / Devotional

In the courts. The room Eliashib placed at Tobiah’s disposal was not in the main building of the Temple, but in one of the buildings adjacent to it, within the sacred precincts of the Temple area. This, no doubt, made the desecration less flagrant than it otherwise would have been, but far from justified the act.
