Theological / Devotional

The horse gate. The site of the Horse Gate appears, from 2 Chron. 23:15 as compared with 2 Kings 11:6, not to have been far distant from the Temple and the royal palace, while a comparison of Neh. 3:27 and 28 indicates that it stood in the neighborhood of the wall of Ophel, and might appropriately be regarded as belonging to it. It was probably located at the southeastern corner of the Temple area, on the slopes of Mt. Moriah.
