Theological / DevotionalEleazar. He was also appointed to officiate at the offering of the red heifer (ch. 19:3). In both instances it was apparently deemed imperative that the high priest avoid ceremonial uncleanness (Lev. 21:10-15).
Out of the burning. From among the burned bodies.
They are hallowed. The censers had been used for offering incense to Jehovah, and had held sacred fire from off the altar (Num. 16:7, 18, 46; cf. Lev. 16:12, 13). Previously they had been but the private property of the princes (Num. 16:6).
