Theological / Devotional

Burn the heifer. All was consumed to ashes after the sprinkling of the blood (see Ex. 29:14). This is the only sacrifice in which the blood is consumed with the rest of the sacrifice instead of being poured out at the altar. Some have suggested that the reason was the lack of a consecrated place away from the altar, where the earth could receive the blood.
