As Balaam had said. Upon this occasion Balaam did not withdraw to be alone.

He made no pretense at working some magical art in secret, but remained with Balak at the altar. The instructions given by Balaam were carried out unquestioningly by Balak. The responsibility was altogether Balaam’s.
