Theological / Devotional

One portion of fifty. This was 2 per cent of the spoil apportioned to the congregation. The portion of the Levites was 320 maidens, 6,750 sheep and goats, 720 cattle, and 610 asses. The percentage was no doubt commanded in proportion to the relative number of Levites. The priests were not allowed, however, to marry non-Israelite wives (Lev. 21:14).
