An end. Heb. ’acharith, literally, “an aftertime,” translated “reward” (ch. 24:14). However well the wicked may fare in this life, and however much the righteous may suffer, the aftertime will correct the situation. The hope of the sinner in this world will fail, and the expectation of the righteous will surely come to pass.
