Riotous eaters of flesh. Literally, “riotous eaters of flesh for themselves.” Some have interpreted the phrase “flesh for themselves” as meaning “their own flesh,” thus implying that those who revel in high living are ruining their own bodies and in this sense eating their own flesh. However, the parallelism implies that literal feasting is the subject under consideration.
