Afterwards. Heb. ’acharay, literally, “after me.” ’Acharay is not the usual form for “afterwards,” but may be an unusual form of the adverb. Wise rebuke will bring reward to both giver and receiver even though it may hurt at the time (see Prov. 27:6; 29:5; James 5:19, 20).
