Theological / DevotionalGreyhound. Heb. zarzir mothnayim, literally, “one girt in the loins.” In the modern Hebrew zarzir represents the starling. Precisely what creature the wise man had in mind cannot be determined, since the word occurs only here. The ancient versions rendered zarzir “cock.” Another conjectural definition is “horse.”
