Theological / Devotional

As it is written. The quotation is from Ps. 44:22. Paul refers to the sufferings of God’s people in an earlier age as typical of the persecutions to which the Christians were being exposed in his day. Ever since the entrance of sin, the hatred of the wicked against the righteous has been strong (see Gal. 4:29; 1 John 3:12).

Are killed. Or, “are being killed.”

Accounted. Or, “regarded.”
