Theological / Devotional

It is the Moabitish damsel. The servant speaks as if the coming of Ruth was a matter of common knowledge. The fact that Boaz, though “near of kin” (v. 20), had not yet met Ruth, implies that Ruth began gleaning soon after her arrival (see on v. 2).
