Theological / Devotional

So Absalom fled. This is the third time this fact is mentioned, but each repetition is for the purpose of introducing some new detail. In v. 34 the simple fact is stated that Absalom had fled. In v. 37 the locality of his flight is given (see Absalom’s Flight and Usurpation of the Kingdom), and here its duration.
