Theological / DevotionalGod of this people. Paul began his speech like Stephen, emphasizing Israel’s history, a Jewish religious approach. This showed apostles recognized Hebrews as God’s chosen people.
Exalted. Greek hupsod, also found in LXX of Isa. 1:2 (KJV “brought up”).
This may echo the haphtarah, the Prophets’ Scripture reading, possibly just read (Acts 13:15; cf. v. 18).
