Theological / Devotional

Sanctify the breast. Verses 27 and 28 apply to all future offerings for consecration. From this time forward the breast and right shoulder belonged to the priests. The shoulder was to be “heaved up” in a single lifting movement, as it were, toward heaven, and the breast was to be “waved” horizontally in a repeated swinging movement (Lev. 7:30-36; Num. 18:11).
