Theological / Devotional

Stone thee. The mode of capital punishment for adultery (see on verse 38).

According to the mode the punishment was executed by the congregation (Numbers 15:36), or by the men of the city (Leviticus 20:2). In this case the “congregation,” or “company,” is the army of the Chaldeans.
