Theological / Devotional

Standeth. There seems to be a special emphasis on this word. It signifies an unfinished task. By contrast Christ “sat down” (v. 12), signifying that His work, as far as His sacrifice was concerned, was complete. The continuous nature of the priestly sacrifices is further emphasized by the words “daily” and “oftentimes.”
