Theological / Devotional

Ye are not come. For the incident referred to in verses 18-21 see Exodus 19:9-25. As ancient Israel came to Mount Sinai and heard the voice of God (Hebrews 12:18-21), so Christians have “come unto mount Sion” (verses 22, 23) and are to heed the voice of Christ (verses 24-27).

That might be touched. That is, not to some literal mountain here on earth.

That burned with fire. For the descriptive phrases of verses 18, 19 see Exodus 19:16.
