Theological / Devotional

He entered into a ship. Matt. 9:1 is the concluding statement of the narrative of the two demoniacs of Gadara (Matt. 8:28 to 9:1; see on Mark 5:21). The chapter division here should come between vs. 1 and 2 of Matt. 9.

His own city. That is, Capernaum (see on Mark 1:29).
