Commentary on Hosea 2:21

Theological / Devotional

I will hear. Literally, “I will answer.” The source of Israel’s prosperity is depicted in vs. 21, 22 by a graphic descending climax. God answers the heavens; the heavens answer the earth; and the earth answers the crops. Thus the material prosperity of Israel is traced by the prophet to its proper source, the Giver of all (see on vs. 5, 8).
